Future Says Lil Baby & Gunna Are The New GOATs Of Trap Music

“They the next dudes to get the new deals, the new money.”

Future’s new album, Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD, is set to drop next week, but the Atlanta rapper is no longer concerned about proving his place in the game. During a recent interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, he crowned Atlanta’s own Lil Baby and Gunna as the new “goats” of trap music right now.

“I’d give it to Lil Baby and Gunna. They right now, they them dudes. They the next dudes to get the new deals, the new money… supposed to be hitting the new baddest chick in the game.,” he said.

The two rappers experienced huge breakout success in 2018. Baby scored a Top 10 hit alongside Drake with “Yes Indeed,” while his collaborative track with Gunna, “Drip Too Hard,” peaked at No. 4. Gunna also had a star turn on Travis Scott’s “YOSEMITE,” and even ended up on Mariah Carey’s new album, Caution.

When asked to offer both rappers advice about how to achieve longevity, Future had this to say: “Stay focused and stay in the studio. Stay working. Stay grounded. Stay humble. Stay making money. Stack it high as you can, no matter what anyone around you say.”

Future collaborated twice with Gunna last year, featuring the young rapper on “Money Train” from the Superfly soundtrack as well as “Ain’t Living Right,” from his collaborative project with Juice WRLD. He has yet to hop on a song with Lil Baby, however.

Genius caught up with Lil Baby last year on an episode of For the Record:
