About Joji

Joji, or George Miller, is a New York based producer, rapper, and singer signed to the 88rising label. His artist name comes from the Japanese pronunciation of “George,” as he is half Japanese.

He started releasing music under Joji in 2015 on his Soundcloud page. He explained in a January 2016 Instagram post that he originally intended this music to be private; however, once it was reuploaded and released to the public, he decided to make his account public and released two singles from his then-upcoming project Chloe Burbank Volume 1: “you suck charlie” and “thom.” While he kept releasing material on his Soundcloud page, including songs like “they don’t understand,” “plastic taste,” and “rain on me,” this project was never released in its full.

In April 2017, Joji released “i don’t wanna waste my time,” which was presumed to be the lead single from an upcoming project. However, in October 2017, he released “will he”, and soon after confirmed that song to be the lead single off his debut EP, In Tongues, leaving “i don’t wanna waste my time” as a standalone single. The EP was released on November 3, 2017, and included “will he”, four new songs, and “world$tar money,” a song previously released on his Soundcloud in 2016. To accompany the EP, he released another EP of three previously unreleased songs called Lost Instruments one week before In Tongues came out.

On December 29th, he officially stated that he was retiring from comedy and would no longer be making Filthy Frank videos. This was due to mental and physical health concerns, however, he will still be working on other projects.

On May 8th Joji released the single “Yeah Right”. A few months later he collaborated with various artists and released “Midsummer Madness” on June 7th while on July 17th he released the song “Peach Jam” with BlocBoy JB, both songs being included at the 88rising album Head in the Clouds.

Joji has also released two comedic albums and various other less serious songs under the name Pink Guy. Pink Guy’s music is separated from Joji’s page and can be found here.
