About RAT BOY

Jordan Cardy, professionally known as RAT BOY, is a singer, rapper, guitarist and record producer from Chelmsford, Essex. His influences include Beastie Boys, The Clash, The Streets and Blur, and he has described himself as a “shit Jamie T.”

He first started making music in 2013, releasing his breakout project, The Mixtape, in 2014. He then went on to sign with Parlophone Records in early 2015, releasing his first two singles, “Sign On” and “Fake ID”, with them.

In 2016, he was nominated for Best New Act on both BBC Music Sound Of 2016 and MTV Brand New and also won Best New Artist at the NME Awards.

In April 2017, his unreleased song “Knock Knock Knock,” taken from the 2015 Neighbourhood Watch mixtape, was sampled by Kendrick Lamar on “LUST.”

His debut album, Scum, was released on 11 August 2017. The standard edition includes the four singles “Sign On”, “Fake ID”, “Move” and “Revolution”, while the deluxe edition is injected with skits created by the man behind the Grand Theft Auto radio stations.
